A Memory of the Players in a Mirror at Midnight is a project that refers to literary (James Joyce), but also to pop cultural sources (Eyes of Laura Mars), to interweave these within a virtual architecture as a spatial, polyphonic narrative.
The installation was realized in different versions, using a number of divergent media: computer animation, text, spatial displays, wall drawings, photographs, maps - in order to fathom contemporary forms of spatial narratives, and their relation to mass media.
At the project's core is the film Eyes of Laura Mars (by Irving Kershner), from the year 1978. Different sequences of this thriller from the 1970s were reconstructed by using a 3D architectural program. The virtual spaces emerging were re-constellated into a new architectural sequence by a method of digital, spatial montage: a female Voice Over accompanies a camera track through these digital.
