Bliss

The video piece Bliss explores minimalist aesthetics through generative means of production. The foundation of the work lies in one-dimensional cellular automata – a mathematically strictly determined universe where each row of pixels derives its appearance by examining the preceding row. However, both the initial state of the system and the rules themselves are arbitrary, providing room for artistic intervention.
