36 VIEWS ist der vierte Film einer Serie, die sich mit historischer Malerei beschäftigt. Der Titel ist eine Anspielung auf Hokusais 36 Views of Mount Fuji. Der Film besteht aus 6 Teilen, welche inhaltlich durch die Auseinandersetzung mit dem Japanischen Künstler Hokusai und Phänomenen Japanischer Alltagskultur geprägt sind und von Werkgruppen Hokusais inspiriert wurden. Im Wesentlichen handelt es sich um einen Animationsfilm, in dem analoge und digitale Techniken befragt werden. Dabei soll keine Geschichte erzählt werden, sondern die Bildfindung und Bildentwicklung durch die jeweilige Technik ist das Thema des Videos.
