Zoomahinundher

For their portrait of the region, entitled Zoomahinundher, Thomas Baumann and Martin Kaltner translage the well-proven ordering principle of surveying into the language of experimantal film. The possibilities of cinematic expression are deliberately reduced to retro-zoom and two basic rules observed: every frame has to connect to the next one in at least one way and the original starting point has to be returned too. Thus the film-makers zoom from one point of reference to the next, walking through the countryside and the villages of the festival area.
