Geboren 1958 in Werne/Nordrhein-Westfalen (DE). Studium der Komposition bei Nicolaus A. Huber und Dirk Reith an der Folkwang Hochschule Essen. Musikalischer Leiter am Theater für international aufgeführte Ballette. Zwischen 1996 und 2000 arbeitet er mit dem Installationskünstler und Architekten Christian Moeller zusammen u.a. für Ausstellungen in Tokio, Lissabon und im Science Museum London. Arbeit an verschiedenen Institutionen - der Stanford Universität Kalifornien, dem Zentrum für Kunst und Medien Karlsruhe, dem Institut für Computermusik und elektronische Medien der Folkwang Hochschule Essen und der Kingston University London. Seit 2003 leitet er das Institut für Musik und Akustik im ZKM, das heute als HertzLab bekannt ist.

Born in 1958 in Werne, North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany), Ludger Brümmer studied composition with Nicolaus A. Huber and Dirk Reith at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. He served as musical director at the theater for internationally performed ballets. Between 1996 and 2000, he collaborated with installation artist and architect Christian Moeller on various exhibitions, including projects in Tokyo, Lisbon, and at the Science Museum in London. He has worked at several institutions, among them Stanford University in California, ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, the Institute for Computer Music and Electronic Media at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, and Kingston University London. Since 2003, he has headed the Institute for Music and Acoustics at ZKM, now known as HertzLab.
